The Carolina Inn is more than just a hotel, it is one of the most iconic institutions in Chapel Hill and is the host of Fridays on the Front Porch from the beginning of June through to the start of October each summer. When you walk up the stairs to the Inn’s front porch you feel as though you are walking onto a Nicholas Sparks movie set (in the best possible way). Running from 5 pm to 8 pm you are able to witness the legendary Carolina sunset over this gorgeous scene, sipping on cocktails and listening to live bluegrass music. On their website you are able to see which band(s) will be playing as well as which local food truck will be on the premises, we thoroughly enjoyed tacos from Cilantro on August 13th. Fridays on the Front Porch provides a wonderful opportunity to dress up in your Carolina finest, think light linen and anything Carolina blue, and enjoy the sweltering heat while enjoying a cocktail and dance, just be sure to find a spot with shade!
