If you can’t tell, we love Asian food in this household, whether it’s Chinese, Korean, Indian or any of our other favorite cuisines. Last night became another night where it was time to let someone else do (most) of the cooking, so we decided to order from one of our favorite Indian restaurants, Vimala’s Curryblossom Café. They currently have a great online ordering system (or you can call them) to place an order for contactless pickup up until 6 pm. The food is all pre-cooked but you pick it up cool and heat it at home to ensure your food is nice and hot rather than lukewarm which often happens to take out food. We ordered Lamb Roganjosh, Kerala Beef, and Dosa batter which comes with all the chutneys, sambar, and gunpowder. We were very excited until it became time to start preparing the food to eat. We struggled to make the first dosa and it looked as though there wasn’t much lamb in the Roganjosh, we feared that we had made a mistake ordering this food. Boy, were we wrong. This was probably the best takeout we had gotten during the lockdown. We tried a different frying pan and my mother managed to make excellent and crispy dosas and uttapams. The lamb began to fall off the bone creating the most succulent meat you can imagine and you could tell that all the curries had been made using proper spices and really melded with the sauce rather than been mixed in. Dinner ended up being spectacular and I am sure we will be ordering from there again. The order is excellently packaged and labeled and comes with great cooking instructions on how to best heat up your food. You can sign up for text messages when you order and they will text you when it is ready to pick up, when you arrive you just call them and voilà, they bring it out on a table outside with your name on it, then you’re ready to go warm and enjoy one of the best curries ever, go order from Vimala’s Curryblossom Café now!
